Without effective advertising, it is impossible to sell a product. However, not all tactics you may wish to use to promote your product or service are legal.

Should you wish to present your product using the sales pitch “you won’t find it cheaper anywhere else”, you must ensure that your assertion is true. You also need to ensure that any representations you make as to guarantees and other statements (such as 100% original) are substantiated. If not, you can quickly receive a warning letter. Another area in which warning letters are regularly sent, concerns the incorrect display of prices per unit (e.g. price per litre or price per 100g).
