Many people who are caught speeding in Germany or receive a notice of intended prosecution for other motoring offences, pay the fine and accept points on their licence because they think a lawyer will be too expensive. However, there are options for funding your case.

Many people believe that instructing a lawyer would be too costly in order to defend against a speeding ticket or other driving offence charges. In fact, there are number of legal funding options available.

One study shows that 85% of all notices of intended prosecution for alleged driving offences are erroneous. It is therefore well worth appealing any speeding ticket or other motoring charge. It is particularly important to consider instructing a lawyer if you at risk of losing your licence. A lawyer can exercise disclosure rights to analyse the strength of the authorities’ case against you and then develop a strong defence.

Whether you will have to carry the costs of instructing a lawyer yourself depends on whether you have legal expenses insurance.

Insurance companies normally cover the cost of motoring offence proceedings. All you need to do is tell us your insurance number and we will do the rest.
