Skydrive agreement

In a joint press release with BSkyB, Microsoft announced it will change the name of its cloud service.

The two companies reached the out-of-court settlement after a judge of the High Court of England and Wales declared the name Skydrive infringed BSkyB’s trademark rights.

Microsoft will be permitted to use the name Skydrive for a reasonable length of time during a transitional period to a new name. In return, the company agreed to not pursue an appeal of the High Court’s decision.
